La Louviere is one of Pessac-Leognan's up and coming stars for both red and white wines. The 1994, one of the sleepers of the vintage, is well worth buying. Its deep ruby/purple color, and smoky, black currant, herb-tinged nose are provocative. It is rich, powerful, and dense, with moderate tannin, excellent to outstanding concentration, and admirable purity. This is an impressively-endowed wine for drinking between 2000-2012.
