The 1993 exhibits a saturated dark ruby/purple color, and a tight but excellent nose of ripe, black cherry and cassis fruit, minerals, and toasty new oak. The wine possesses excellent flavor concentration and fatness (not a trait of many 1993 clarets), a ripe, chewy texture, and a long, heady, rich, moderately tannic finish. The fruit and tannin suggest it should be drunk early; it should last for 10-15 years. Last tasted 11/94 Jan 1998, www.robertparker.com
