A muscular and toned 2015 with firm and chewy tannins, polished texture and a flavorful finish. Shows panache. May be even better than the excellent 2009? Mar 2016, www.JamesSuckling.com
Score: 93-94/100 James Suckling
The 2015 La Gurgue has plenty of ripe red cherry and cassis fruit on the nose, generous if perhaps not quite achieving the level of complexity of its peers at the moment. The palate is rounded on the entry with plenty of simple, plump, spice-tinged red fruit. The acidity is well-judged here, underpinning what feels like a "gentle" Margaux that should put on weight during its elevage, and then offer drinking pleasure over the following 10-15 years. Apr 2016, www.robertparker.com
Score: 89-91/100 Neal Martin
A friendly, open style, offering bright cherry and plum notes backed by a light chalky spine, with a pretty, floral finish. Mar 2016, James Molesworth, www.WineSpectator.com
Score: 88-91/100 Wine Spectator
The 2015 La Gurgue is juicy, forward and fruit driven. Sweet red cherry and plum flavors abound in a wine with good up-front appeal, but less in the way of complexity or pedigree. Overall, this is a pretty, but simple, Margaux. Apr 2016, www.Vinous.com
Score: 87-89/100 Antonio Galloni

After profiling the three Pauillac first-growths, we turn our attention to the last of Médoc, the heavenly, ethereal Chateau Margaux.
