Critic Notes

The 2013 La Cumbre is produced from selected grapes from the Don Maximiliano Vineyard in the Aconcagua Valley and from the Manzanar Vineyard in the cooler Aconcagua Costa; it fermented by individual lot in stainless steel and was raised in French oak for up to two years before blending and bottling. It's still very young and feels marked by the elevage, with plenty of spicy and smoky aromas; it is quite varietal with smoked bacon and violets with a lactic touch and some tar. The palate is medium to full-bodied, quite juicy, round and fleshy, with powerful flavors and good acidity. With time it reveals the cool vintage with some herbal (raspberry leaf) notes. 11,388 bottles produced. Dec 2015, www.robertparker.com
