The 2014 La Couspaude offers quite powerful aromas of red berry fruit, meat juices and dessicated orange peel on the nose, intense if just missing a little delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with a sumptuous mouthfeel, more like a 2009 or 2015 in style. There is evidently a lot of oak here and whilst that knits theis Saint Emilion together, it does rather denude it of personality and terroir expression, especially on the finish. It is enjoyable but not such an intellectual wine. Mar 2017, www.robertparker.com
