Average Score 90.8

Structured and powerful for a 2016 from here with chocolate, berry, walnut and spice character. Medium to full body and chewy tannins. Excellent potential. Apr 17,
This wine is perfumed, with fine spice and new wood flavors. Black plums and fruits are right there along with the core of dark tannins. It is impressive, with a long-term future. Apr 2017, Roger Voss,
Soft contours and generous, dark-fleshed fruit give the 2016 La Commanderie much of its immediacy and overall appeal. Chocolate, spice and leather develop in the glass, adding aromatic nuance and complexity. This bold, juicy Saint-Émilion should drink well right out of the gate. Tasted two times. Apr 2017,
Already some evolution and meatiness on the nose but then very drying tannins on the end. Apr 2017,, Drink: 2025-2038
The 2016 Château La Commanderie, the Pomerol estate owned by Andrew and Mélodie Kuk and Julien Bordas, has a mixture of red and black fruit on the nose, the new oak conspicuous at the moment and needing to assimilate during its élevage. The palate is medium-bodied with quite dense tannin, a touch of vanilla and dark chocolate layered over the fruit and as such, expresses more winemaking than terroir expression compared to its peers. Let's see how this performs after bottling, because I was expecting more. Apr 17,, Drink: 2019-2027 Apr 2017,, Drink: 2019-2027
