This has the creamy magic texture of all superb 2015 Pomerol. Full and ultra-velvety with a creamy, minerally and citrus rind mouth feel. Amazing depth of fruit. A triumph. 82% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Franc. Mar 2016, www.JamesSuckling.com

A blend of 82% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Franc, the 2015 Hosanna had a medium garnet-purple color, charging out of the glass with an exotic perfume of smoked meats, truffles, sandalwood and Indian spices over a compelling core of cherry cordial, blackberry tart and blueberry compote plus suggestions of garrigue and rose hip tea. The full-bodied palate is absolutely laden with taut, muscular black and blue fruits, with a solid frame of grainy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing with languidly lingering licorice and spice flavors. Incredibly seductive and just plain delicious right now, hedonists can enjoy this captivating wine while it’s relatively young, while traditionalists can wait ten years and drink it over the next 25 years or more. The 2015 Hosanna is a blend of 82% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Franc. Now Hosanna is usually quite exuberant on the nose at this early stage, however, this is a very different Hosanna - much more reserved and introverted, yet still complex with a melange of black fruit, undergrowth, truffle and brine aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, plenty of truffle-tinged fruit, a lovely spicy edge and a persuasive peacock's tail finish that lingers long in the mouth while maintaining wonderful freshness. This is an outstanding Hosanna from the JP Moueix team, perhaps the first vintage to really convince me of its greatness since its debut. Apr 2016, www.eRobertParker.com, Drink: 2023-2050

Dense, with a muscular feel, though the core of cassis and blackberry paste is very pure. This is inlaid with some hefty roasted apple wood and melted licorice notes, giving way to warm Christmas pudding on the finish, all while maintaining a serious tannic spine. The 2015 Hosanna is endowed with remarkable depth and intensity. Violet, plum, lavender, tobacco and exotic spice notes make a strong first impression. Deep, layered and pliant on the palate, the Hosanna reveals layer after layer of flavor. The tannins are very much present, but they are nearly buried by the sheer luxuriousness of the fruit. Hosanna is 82% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Franc from clay/gravel soils. Apr 2016, www.Vinous.com

4ha vineyard. Powerful but subdued. Masses of dark fruit on the nose – blackcurrant to the fore. Huge depth on the palate backed by abundant tannins that are finely polished with no aggression. Freshness and enormous length on the finish. Apr 2016, James Lawther MW, www.Decanter.com, Drink: 2023-2040

One of the few Moueix wines that I (slightly) preferred in 2014, this may just need more time. Structured and firm with lots of smoky oak, firmish tannins and dark, plummy concentration supported by the graphite freshness of the Cabernet Franc. Apr 2016, www.timatkin.com, Drink: 2022-2035

A Jean-Pierre Moueix wine. 4 ha (10 acres) of gravel and clay. 82% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc. Mid ruby. Broad and floral on the nose. Good attack though a little moderate in impact. Not a blockbuster! But very gentle and mild. Appetising. Apr 2016, www.JancisRobinson.com, Drink: 2025-2038
