Almost flashy, with stunning fruitcake, licorice, blueberry and plum sauce flavors. There's lots of definition already, with a gorgeous chocolate-filled finish. Merlot with 30 percent old-vine Cabernet Franc. Tasted non-blind. James Molesworth,
This wine displays plenty of black raspberries, black currants, espresso roast, Asian soy and plum sauce along with some mocha and chocolate. Beautifully rich, firm, and full-bodied, with sweet but abundant tannins, this is a classy, noble style of wine that should be forgotten for at least 5-7 years and drunk over the following 20. Remarkably, the alcohol, like most of the wines in the J. P. Moueix stable of Pomerols and St.-Emilions, hit 14.5%.||A tiny production of only 1,000 cases in 2010 (versus 1,500 in most vintages), its proprietor Christian Moueix has turned out a more tannic, structured, backward style of Hosanna than the 2009 or, for that matter, the 2008. Wine Advocate.February, 2013
Hosanna Deep ruby in color, the wine is filled with chocolate, boysenberry, floral and truffle scents. Full bodied, rich and silky in texture, the wine ends with a luscious chocolate covered cherry and spice finish.
Maintains the consistency established with the first vintage in 1999. Dense, full, savoury - exudes depth and power. Plenty of vigour. Attractive fruit. Long, firm finish. Drink 2020-2040. James Lawther,
Incredibly perfumed, with flowers and berries. A full bodied wine, with silky tannins and a bright and fruity finish. Not the weight of the Lafleur Petrus, but beautiful.
Tasted at JP Moueix, the Hosanna ’10 has a ripe, opulent bouquet with very fine delineation and focus, with notes of blackberry, dark plum, truffle oil, a hint of walnut and a faint touch of bell pepper. Complex and engaging. The palate is medium-bodied with that slight walnut tang on the entry, good intensity of fruit, very linear and strict at the moment but there is a flourish towards the finish with notes of blackberry, allspice and orange rind. Long in the mouth, this is an excellent Hosanna. Tasted April 2011. Neal Martin
The 2010 Hosanna, with its aromatics of blackberries, plums, violets and cedar, is a generous full-bodied wine with grace and restraint but fantastic length. This wine is always among my favourites to taste in Pomerol and every year it is consistently complex and elegant, the spices and floral character adding a wonderful dimension to the fruit. This wine will age and evolve for decades.
Dark blackish crimson. Heady nose. Lots of sweet intensity. Then tight tannins. There’s quite a bit of acidity here at the moment. Very cool on the finish. A very strong statement-of-vintage character! Very hard work. It may develop into something more friendly but it’s decidedly austere at the moment.
