A beautiful, sexy red. Dark ruby with a slightly garnet hue. Lovely floral, berry and spice aromas. Full-bodied, with lovely silky tannins and a fruity, complex aftertaste.--1982 Bordeaux horizontal. Drink now. James Suckling, Wine Spectator 1998
Score: 94-/100 Wine Spectator
For a decade or so after the vintage, this wine merited a score in the mid-ninety point range. Remarkably (for a wine that is not a classified growth), it is still holding on. While displaying considerable ruby and lightening at the edge, it is a medium-bodied effort still offering plenty of cedar, spice box, roasted herb, and sweet currant and cherry fruit. Although it appears to be past its peak of maturity, it will provide plenty of joy and character if drunk over the near-term. Release price: ($85.00/case) Jun 2009, www.robertparker.com
Score: 88-/100 Robert Parker
