A juicy red with berry, plum and chocolate aromas and flavors. Medium body, round and juicy tannins and a delicious finish. Close in quality to the outstanding 2015. Mar 2017, www.jamessuckling.com
The 2016 Haut-Condissas has a pleasant strictness on the nose before opening up with plenty of blackberry, cedar and brown spice aromas. The palate is full-bodied with sweet grippy tannin on the entry, a voluminous Medoc with a showy, barnstorming finish that might just be a little over the top. Yet there is undeniably charm here, an extrovert Medoc with a smile on its face. Apr 2017, www.robertparker.com
Strong oak influence, rich and ripe from Jean Guyon, but kudos to him for sticking to his guns. His winemaking remains dramatic and rich but not drying despite the extraction. 60% Merlot, 20% Petit Verdot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Apr 2017, www.decanter.com
The 2016 Haut Condissas is deep, fleshy and flavorful, all qualities that will make it easy to appreciate upon release and for several years thereafter. Inky blue/purplish fruit, licorice, lavender, spice and menthol infuse this bold, racy Cru Bourgeois. Alain Raynaud consults. Apr 2017, www.vinous.com
