Average Score 87.83

Deeply fleshed out both in colour and on the fruit-forward attack, and heavily laden with spice, charcoal and rich vanilla bean notes. It is well paced through the palate, yet is not particularly Pessac in its balance. A Gonet property, as with Château d'Eck, this is on 7ha of clay, sand and gravel soils, planted to 70% Merlot with 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot, aged in 100% new oak for 18 months. Very dark purplish crimson. Broad and easy though could do with just a tad more life and freshness. Solid and a bit drying on the end.  Apr 2017, www.jancisrobinson.com, Drink: 2024-2034
A little light but offering some nice cooked-apple and -pear character. Medium body and a fresh finish. Apr 17, www.jamessuckling.com
