Plenty of ripe fruit with walnut and berry character. Full and silky. Juicy and integrated. Very well-done. Mar 2016, www.JamesSuckling.com
The 2015 Goulée by Cos d'Estournel is plump, juicy and delicious. This Merlot-based blend delivers lovely intensity and radiance. The 2015 will be a delicious, early drinking wine. Sweet red cherry, raspberry and cinnamon grace the soft caressing finish. Over the last few years, the presence of Merlot has gone up in the Goulée. Tasted two times. Apr 2016, www.Vinous.com
Tasting note coming soon. Apr 2016, www.TimAtkin.com
77% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc. IPT 57. 30% new oak. Bright crimson. New fresh style continues (started 2003). Floral ad fresh but fully ripe nose. Very nice gentle texture. 12.9%. Apr 2016, www.JancisRobinson.com, Drink: 2018-2024
The 2015 Goulee is a blend of 77% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Cabernet Franc, cropped at 52 hectoliters per hectare and matured in 30% new oak. There is a noticeable marine influence that tinctures the black fruit here, pleasant lift from the glass, if missing the complexity of other vintages that I have tasted at this early juncture. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, moderate depth, just a touch of powdered dark chocolate sprinkled over the black fruit. It just feels a little simplistic on the finish and I suspect that it will be an early-drinking 2015. Apr 2016, www.robertparker.com
