After years of experimentation, Glenmorangie’s Dr Bill Lumsden has successfully married two of the world’s most superlative spirits: Scotch and Cognac. Lumsden selected barrels that previously held Cognac many times before for this 13-year-old single malt. The whisky was initially aged in ex-Bourbon casks for over eight years, before it was finished in Cognac casks for an additional four years. The resulting liquid sings with the Cognac casks’ notes of clove, pepper and hints of leather complementing Glenmorangie’s classic, fruity tones.
