1978 Giscours

90Average Score
flagBordeaux / France

The 1978 Giscours continues to offer delicious drinking. The color is a healthy, nearly opaque dark garnet. The wine reveals a fragrant bouquet of cedar, dried herbs, black fruits, earth, and spice. It is medium-bodied, with outstanding concentration, a sweet mid-palate, and enough acidity to provide focus. This spicy, surprisingly rich as well as ripe 1978 continues to age marvelously well in the bottle. It is fully mature, but capable of lasting. Anticipated maturity: Now-2008.
