A powerful and intense white with so much sea salt, dried grapefruit and pineapple character. Full and vivid. Apr 2016,
The 2015 Gazin Rocquencourt is an absolutely gorgeous, sensual wine. Dark red cherry, pomegranate, rose petal, mint and spices are all fused together. Expressive floral notes add aromatic lift, before a closing burst of acidity ratchets up the intensity even further. Scents of graphite, smoke, game, tobacco and incense round things out in style. Although super-finessed, the 2015 is also tightly wound and in need of serious cellaring. The 2015 is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot that spent about four weeks on the skins. New oak is around 45%. This is a strong showing from Gazin Rocquencourt and the Bonnie family. Michel Rolland consults. Tasted three times. Apr 2016,
The 2015 Gazin Rocquencourt is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot picked between September 23 and October 7, matured in 45% new oak. There is something almost sultry about the nose, quite deep and introspective, but I am sure it will blossom after its élevage. The palate is fresh and crisp with slightly grainy tannin, a keen thread of acidity, quite structured for this Cru with a focused and tensile finish. Bon vin. Apr 2016,, Drink: 2018-2030
Harvest from 23 September to 12 October, giving a leisurely picking period. Lovely rich and juicy black fruits, enjoyable and effortless, from 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot and 40% new oak. The 10th anniversary of the Bonnie family here and a real testament to what they have achieved. Good value. Apr 2016, Jane Anson,, Drink: 2023-2035
Tasting note coming soon. Apr 2016,
Purplish crimson. Not flashy but pretty beguiling. Putty and interest on the nose and real juiciness on the palate. Pretty well done. Even if it's a little angular and inky on the finish. Apr 2016,, Drink: 2024-2034
