Average Score 90.5

A tight and linear red with blackberry and blueberry character. Medium body and racy and fine-grained tannins. Mar 2017, www.jamessuckling.com
The 2016 Chateau Fourcas-Borie is a blend of 68% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Petit Verdot, matured for 12 months in 20% new oak and the remainder one year old. I found more precision and intensity on the Fourcas-Borie compared to Bruno's other Listrac, Ducluzeau, quite floral with cassis and blueberry aromas developing in the glass. The palate is sweet on the entry with noticeable new oak at the moment, though that prudent 20% is totally in sync with the fruit. This is very sleek, silky to the touch with a slight graininess developing on the finish. It has great potential, although it deserves several years in bottle. Apr 2017, www.robertparker.com, Drink: 2023-2040
The 2016 Fourcas-Borie is a rich, intense wine. Deeply spiced notes open up first, followed by layers of plump blue/purplish fruit, leather, sweet tobacco and menthol. Like Ducluzeau, the Fourcas-Borie shows quite a bit more depth and intensity than in the past. This is an especially succulent, juicy Listac, and a very serious wine to boot. Apr 2017, www.vinous.com
A classic left bank wine with cassis fruits, liquorice, dark chocolate and tobacco notes. It's hard to complain about this as it is full of pleasure; plump, modern and enjoyable. 68% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Petit Verdot. 3.59pH. Apr 2017, www.decanter.com, Drink: 2023-2038
This is a ripe and beautifully structured wine. With its great tannins and fine acidity, it is going to be delicious. Though the tannins are currently very present, with a strong dry core, it will be a really fine wine as it ages over the medium term. Apr 2017, Roger Voss, www.wineenthusiast.com
Good cherry and red currant preserve notes are framed by a singed alder accent. Shows focus on the finish, where the wood melds with the fruit. Apr 2017, James Molesworth, www.winespectator.com
