Average Score 91.3

Intense, with ripe, focused apricot, peach and almond notes driving through, gilded by hints of orange blossom and honeysuckle. The finish is lush and rounded, with a subtle hazelnut edge. Has power and purity. Mar 2016, James Molesworth,
A wine that needs more time to integrate its smoky oak flavours, but what lies beneath is typically stylish and well judged. Citrus and stone fruit flavours are complemented by attractive sweetness and taut, refreshing acidity. Apr 2016,, Drink: 2019-2030
Initially reduced, then opens to showcase medicinal aromas of herbs, cinnamon, orchard fruit and vanilla. Rich and creamy palate but with surprising lift. Very mouthfilling and smooth with a long, slightly warm finish. One of the best young Filhots in years. Apr 2016, Ian D'Agata,, Drink: 2021-2035
The 2015 Filhot was showing just a little reduction on the nose when I tasted it. The palate feels balanced, fresh and clean in the mouth, a little muted at first but with a few swirls it finds its voice, and I appreciate that dab of spice on the finish. This should come together by the time of bottling and it may warrant a higher mark. Apr 2016,
Pale greenish. Smells of barley sugar - not a particularly good sign! Racy and sinewy without being especially sweet. Marked acidity and astringency on the finish, but maybe it will all come together eventually. Apr 2016,, Drink: 2024-2034
