Average Score 88.5

Dried-fruit nose. Rather severe on the palate with masses of acid and tannin. Rich and round. Nicely balanced even if not the most concentrated. Apr 2017, www.jancisrobinson.com, Drink: 2023-2035
The 2016 Ferrand-Lartigue, owned by Pierre Chollet, has another powerful, intense bouquet with a subtle dried blood, almost savory tincture. The palate is chewy on the entry with bold tannin, very muscular in style, but I would have preferred to see more flesh to balance the tannins on the finish. Not bad, but I found better in 2016 and frankly, I preferred the 2015 Ferrand-Lartigue when I tasted it from barrel last year.
