Average Score 90.83

A solid density to this young red with blackberry and blueberry character in addition to licorice undertones. Medium to full body and firm and silky tannins. Reserved yet impressive for its density and balance. Mar 2017, www.jamessuckling.com
The 2016 Faurie de Souchard has a very composed and quite detailed bouquet, opulent in style but focused and offering lovely black cherry and raspberry coulis aromas. The palate is structured on the entry with a touch of tobacco on the entry, good depth and group with a structured, fairly grippy finish. There is a lot of potential here, one of the finest I have tasted from this Saint Emilion. Apr 2017, www.robertparker.com, Drink: 2021-2033
Full impact of well placed fruit, this is a wine that does not want to be overlooked. There is a successful balance of power and control, but it's all a little menacing, not really feeling the light touch of the vintage. I wonder if this is down to yields, which read at 30hl/ha. 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in 75% new oak. Apr 2017, www.decanter.com, Drink: 2025-2040
