Tasted blind, the 2015 Echezeaux Grand Cru also put in a superb performance, bursting from the glass with an expressive bouquet of dark wild berries, cola, orange rind, dried flowers and espresso. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, lavish and dramatic, with a broad attack, a deep and juicy core of fruit, satiny structuring tannins and a long, fragrant and already sapid finish. It's one of the finest renditions of Echezeaux to be found this year. Oct 2018, www.robertparker.com
The 2015 Echézeaux Grand Cru has a powerful bouquet that harnesses the warmth of the growing season without losing one iota of the delineation: dark cherries intermingle with mulberry, chestnut, a touch of leather and white pepper - very complex and involving. The palate is medium-bodied with chalky tannin on the entry. This is brimming over with energy and tension, a vein of orange rind interwoven through the red fruit with a dash of black pepper towards the structured finish. This is an outstanding Echézeaux from Etienne Grivot. Dec 2016, www.robertparker.com
(from Les Cruots which is also known as Vignes Blanches). Mild reduction and wood render the nose unreadable today. By contrast, there is a lovely sense of freshness and vivacity to the concentrated, muscular and superbly rich medium weight plus flavors that possess a highly seductive mouth feel while delivering outstanding length on the powerful finish. This is firm but really quite refined and while this should age effortlessly it should be approachable after only 7 to 8 years or so. Dec 2016, www.burghound.com
