This is a solid wine from here with a pretty core of fruit and ripe tannins. Hints of orange peel and tangy acidity. Pretty and precise. Mar 2017, www.jamessuckling.com
This is always a great value wine, delivering again in this vintage. It has real depth, and a bright pull of fruit with coffee grounds giving some sexy polish. 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in 20% new oak. 3.58pH, 88IPT. Apr 2017, www.decanter.com, Drink: 2024-2038
The 2016 Ducluzeau is quite pretty. Lifted and gracious in the glass, with lovely depth and mid-palate pliancy, the 2016 is impeccably balanced from start to finish. The flavors show terrific intensity in 2016. This is the best Ducluzeau I can remember tasting. Plum, lavender, blueberry and licorice notes meld into the creamy, fragrant finish. Apr 2017, www.vinous.com
This wine has richness and concentration, with tense acidity. It has a rustic edge to the ripe blackberry fruit and spice. It is rich, with generous tannins, perfect for mid-term enjoyment. Apr 2017, Roger Voss, www.wineenthusiast.com
Rounded, featuring an unadorned cherry paste core, laced with a plum pit note. Fresh and direct. Apr 2017, James Molesworth, www.winespectator.com
The 2016 Ducluzeau is a blend of 79% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot with a relatively high IPT of 88 and 14% alcohol. Matured for 12 months in 20% new oak, it has a tightly wound bouquet of small dark cherries, a touch of vanilla and Valrona chocolate. The palate is medium-bodied with a little hardness on the entry, a crisp seam of acidity and a muscular finish that just needs more flesh to come through. It is a little brutish at the moment to be honest, so hopefully it will soften during its élevage. Apr 17, www.robertparker.com, Drink: 2020-2032 Apr 2017, www.robertparker.com, Drink: 2020-2032
