2003 is a rich, sweet vintage of powerful, full-bodied wines that possess huge levels of glycerin, alcohol, and residual sugar. Robert Parker, Wine Advocate April 2005

A little bit musty and complicated on the nose. For insiders only. Toasty and chewy. Needs careful food matching and not THAT sweet.... Jancis Robinson, jancisrobinson.com

Tasted at the chateau, the 2003 Chateau Doisy-Vedrines has a slightly muffled bouquet with dried orange peel and melted wax aromas. The palate is full-bodied, rich and unctuous, though it needs more acidity and feels a little fat and laboured on the finish. This is enjoyable but I feel it is treading water compared to other vintages. Aug 2015, www.robertparker.com

24 HOURS IN… MONTPELLIER WITH ANDREW JEFFORD
F+R: As a wine lover and epicurean how would you best spend 24 hours in Montpellier and surrounding area? Andrew Jefford: This slightly depends if you are here in summer or winter.  If you’re here in the summer when it’s very hot, you might want to be near the sea and go swimming: sandy, super-safe and very child-friendly hereabouts.  There ...
