Loganberry and redcurrants aromas – a lighter, fresher spectrum than many. Rouillac has Eric Boissenot as consult and he is clearly not looking to push the vintage. Fresh, vibrant, medium-term drinking. Apr 2016, Jane Anson,, Drink: 2021-2035
Bright, fresh fruit on the nose. A little skinny on the palate. Hard work! Apr 2016,, Drink: 2024-2032
The 2015 Château Rouillac was just lacking a little vigor on the nose when I tasted the barrel sample. The palate is citrus-fresh on the entry with fine, slightly edgy tannin, the finish compensating for the aromatics with nervosité and precision. Classic in style, this will drink well for 10-15 years. Apr 2016,, Drink: 2020-2035
The 2015 Rouillac is a pretty, small-scaled wine build more on aromatics than textural depth, all of which make it a wine best suited for drinking on the early side. Crushed flowers, sweet tobacco, dried herbs and menthol add shades of nuance on the close. Overall, the 2015 is a bit light for the appellation. The blend is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. Alain Raynaud is the consulting winemaker. Apr 2016,
