Average Score 90.75

A blend of 52.5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 47.5% Merlot, the de Pez ’10 has 13.9% alcohol with a pH of 3.45. The Cabernet dominates the nose with cedar, earth and pencil shavings inflecting the broody black fruit, opening nicely with time in the glass but maintaining its conservative nature. The palate is very supple and rounded on the entry thanks to the Merlot, well balanced, supple, generous, layers of ripe blackberry and black plum inflected with cedar and a touch of dried herbs coming towards the gently gripping finish. A second sample at the UGC showed a little more length and even finer tannins. Drink 2015- Tasted March 2011. Neal Martin
de Pez From a blend of 52.5% Cabernet Sauvignon paired with 47.5 Merlot, (which is almost the exact assemblage as they used in Haut Beausejour), the wine shows fresh blackberry, licorice, stone and spice aromas. Full bodied with fresh dark berry flavors on the palate, the wine ends with a cassis filled finish. 90-92 Pts Jeff Leve
The deep ruby purple 2010 Chateau de Pez, with its aromas of plums, blackberries, and cedar, is a wine of great freshness, depth of fruit and tannin expression. This is another lesser property that did well in a very good year for St. Estephe. From 30 year old vines. Jeannie Cho Lee MW
An exotic oak/liqueur nose. Super-ripe and with quite a lot of extract. Nice juice here, though there is a question mark if this is a bit over done.
