An excellent Haut-Médoc with a solid core of fruit and ultra-velvety tannins. Full and flavorful yet shows tension and finesse. Mar 2016,
Sourced from the southern end of the Médoc, close to the Margaux appellation, this has some of the fragrance and finesse of its more famous neighbour. Bright, attractive and well balanced, with subtle oak. Apr 2016,, Drink: 2019-2024
A Stéphane Derenoncourt wine. Sandy gravels. Fresh and round and correct in a sort of liqueur-like mode. Not hugely dramatic, but gentle and solid. Apr 2016,, Drink: 2023-2031

In a second tasting, the wine shows a bit more freshness and also persistence, but it was terrific on both occasions. Simon Blanchard and Hannah Fiegenschuh are the consulting winemakers. Apr 2016,
