Average Score 92.1

Dense cassis and liquorice nose. distinctly oaky, but not to excess. Very rich yet lifted and pure fruit with real intensity and flair thanks to excellent acidity. Irresistible energy and a long finish, with mocha and black fruits. Stylish, floral nose. Defined, weighty, ripe fruit palate is sweet but not overpowering. Nice density and texture. Good finish with well-managed tannins. Wood a bit prominent just now but should soften well with time. Fine, fragrant nose, all elegance and femininity, plus underlying cassis fruit. Lots of fruit, elegance of flavour with florality as well. Lovely harmony, a very attractive wine with a good future. Decanter October 2012
Has Dauzac ever made a wine this good? Deep ruby/purple, with notes of graphite and black currants followed by some spicy oak and licorice in a creamy, plump succulent texture that almost reminds me of a Right Bank wine, this 2009 is full-throttle, dense and super-concentrated. It is an amazing Dauzac. Drink it over the next 25 years. Wine Advocate.February, 2012
Sweet berry and plum aromas, with hints of toasted oak and coffee bean. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a long, pretty and fruity finish. Lacks a little of a midpalate
Tasted at the vertical retrospective at the property. The 2009 Chateau Dauzac, a blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon and 36% Merlot, has a powerful bouquet with blackcurrant pastille, blueberry, violet and fine mineralite. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, quite savoury in style, bestowed with more assertive tannin than the 2010, albeit without quite the same level of finesse. Nevertheless, this is an impressive Dauzac that is brimming with vitality and its more corpulent nature will win many fans - including myself. Give it 3-4 years in bottle to get the most from this Margaux. Tasted June 2015. May 2016,
Very rich and thick and sweet – almost tarry nose. Massive colour coats the inside of the glass. Quite a monster! Very plush and big and sweet. Most unusual. Could be drunk without food in the noisiest of bars and it would still make an impact. Pretty alcoholic.
