Average Score 90.86

Crushed-stone and blackberry character. Full and dense. Fantastic depth and purity. Tightly wound, silky ball. Better than 2015? Mar 2017, www.jamessuckling.com
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Dalem (blended of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc) leaps from the glass with notions of warm black cherries, chocolate mint and baked black plums plus hints of star anise, garrigue and cedar chest. Full-bodied yet possessing fantastic freshness and harmony on the palate, it has wonderfully vibrant fruit and a ripe, grainy frame, finishing with a compelling lift. Nov 2018, www.robertparker.com
The 2016 Dalem, the Fronsac estate belonging to Brigitte Rullier-Loussert, is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc cropped at 41 hectoliters per hectare. It has a well defined bouquet with blackberry and blueberry fruit, fine cedar and undergrowth aromas developing in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, smooth and refined in the mouth with just a dash of black pepper on the silky finish. This may even surpass the impressive 2015 Dalem that I tasted last year. Apr 2017, www.robertparker.com, Drink: 2020-2035
Shows ripe, almost lush flavors of plum and blackberry fruit that spill over the bay, tobacco and chalk notes. Pulls together nicely on the finish. Should be solid when finished. Apr 2017, James Molesworth, www.winespectator.com
The 2016 Dalem is a plush, flamboyant wine. A rush of black cherry, plum, chocolate, menthol and licorice infuse this decidedly opulent, creamy Fronsac. One of the most extroverted wines of the vintage, the 2016 Dalem is also absolutely delicious. Tasted two times. Apr 2017, www.vinous.com
The owner is about to buy another 11 ha! 50% malolactic fermentation in barrique. Mild, and fruit is privileged over oak. Charming and very round. Maybe could do with just a little more structure. Sweet ink for the moment. Meaty.  Apr 2017, www.jancisrobinson.com, Drink: 2023-2031
From good terroir on the clay-limestone soils of the Saillan commune. This wine is carefully worked and softly extracted, showing firm black fruits, although it lacks a little vibrancy compared to the brilliant 2015. Apr 2017, www.decanter.com, Drink: 2020-2035
