Shows aromas of very ripe fruit and sweet tobacco, with hints of earth and spices. Full-bodied and medium sweet, with round, velvety tannins and a long, fruity finish. Likeable for its soft texture. Best after 2016. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. – James Suckling , Wine Spectator 2010
From the 1991 vintage through 2003, the well-known producer Croft has received outstanding ratings in this journal. In that context the 2007 Croft Vintage Port is a mild disappointment. It is a straightforward effort with an attractive nose of damp earth, mineral, blackberry, and plum with herbal notes in the background. On the palate it comes off as a bit narrow, lacking in volume compared to the top wines of the vintage. It is firmly structured and is likely to evolve for up to a decade but is not a candidate for extended cellaring. Wine Advocate.February, 2010
