Mid crimson. Scented, distinctly lifted. Very opulently polished. This tastes like a well-loved vintage car looks. Pure pleasure. Apr 2016,, Drink: 2022-2034
A red with density and ripe fruit for the vintage with walnut, pomace and dark berry character. Full body, chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. Mar 2016,
The medium garnet-purple colored 2015 Couhins-Lurton gives up warm plums, cherries, mulberries and earth scents with touches of herbs and cigars. Medium to full-bodied, it's mouth-filling and chewy with good concentration and a long savory finish. Feb 2018,
An estate only classified for its white yet is worth following for its reds also. Aged in 40% new oak for 12 months, this is a full and rich expression of black fruits finishes with ground coffee and charred oak. Apr 2016, Jane Anson,, Drink: 2019-2032
There's nice energy here, with dark plum and blackberry notes, lined with anise, black tea and warm fruitcake flavors. Mar 2016, James Molesworth,
Tasting note coming soon. Apr 2016,
The 2015 Château Couhins-Lurton has a high-toned blackcurrant and bilberry-scented bouquet, a little more opulent than its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannin and commendable substance in the mouth. What it needs to develop during its barrel ageing is more finesse on the finish, the balance suggesting that it should be possible. Apr 2016,, Drink: 2019-2030
The 2015 Couhins Lurton is a bit more earthy and savory in style than many other 2015s. Expressive floral notes add lift, while the beams of tannin shape the frame. Overall, the 2015 is a pretty wine, but also a bit rustic. Apr 2016,
