Average Score 91.5

This is both slightly riper and notably more refined with its elegant mélange of mostly cool red berry fruit aromas that are liberally seeded with stone, spice, earth and black tea hints. There is excellent richness, intensity, energy and focused power to the attractively well-delineated flavors that display the same fine complexity as the nose. The sleekly muscular, beautifully balanced and impressively lingering finish is shaped by relatively fine-grained tannins and this should amply reward 12 to 15 years of cellar time. Tasted: Apr 15, 2013. Drink: 2023+
Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. There is a charred note on the nose of the Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru ‘11 that rather distracts from the broody black and red berry fruit, perhaps indicative of some barrels being excessively toasted. The palate is medium-bodied and supple on the entry, the fruit profile veering to the red side of the spectrum: cranberry, pomegranate and raspberry all interlaced with soy. There is a pleasant edginess on the finish. I would afford this grand cru another two or three years in bottle as there is potentially a good Corton here, providing that the charred tincture ebbs away. eRobertParker.com.November, 2014
