Founded in 1996, Olivier Collard and Caroline Picard brought together vines from their families in the Marne Valley and Côte des Blancs to form their own House. Their Cuvée Prestige includes a minimum 70% reserve wine, with nine vintages between 2008 and 2016. The base wines were matured in oak and the wine spent four years on lees. Tasted blind, many of our team took it for Krug. It offers remarkable value. The nose is open and enticing, with savoury evolution and rich, ripe fruit. Generous plum, peach, red berry, brioche, crème anglaise and sweet spice are balanced by lemon curd and crisp apple notes. A blend of 50% Chardonnay with 25% each Pinot Noir and Meunier, the acidity is vibrant, the mousse fine, with bright citrus and a saline minerality complementing the baked apple and hazelnut layers. The finish is long, moreish and mouth-watering. A bottle won’t last long.
