2011 Clos Vougeot

Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. There is more vigor adorning Etienne Grivot’s Clos Vougeot 2011 compared to its peers: bright red cherries and bergamot scents, a hint of tea leaf and sous-bois. The palate is herbaceous on the entry with some stem addition, but it displays decent weight and length plus an attractive peppery aftertaste. This is a fine Clos Vougeot in what appeared to be a difficult vintage for the clos. eRobertParker.com.November, 2014
