The Jadot 2006 Clos Vougeot – one lot of which was parked in tank for nearly six months while waiting for the other to finally undergo malo – exhibits an unusually dark color for its collection; offers a polished, rich, velvet-textured melange of lightly-cooked black fruits underlain by roasted red meats; and finishes sedately but with memorable savor and length. Lardiere's fears that the wine might end up disjointed have thus proven unfounded, and I suspect that this classic example of top-notch Clos Vougeot will be worth following over the next decade. And since there are a thousand cases of it, quite a few wine lovers can share that experience. Dec 2009, www.robertparker.com
