2009 Clos Nardian

A blend of 40% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Semillon and 20% Muscadelle, this has a less leesy bouquet than in previous year (there was no batonnage in 2009.) The Semillon drives the nose with notes of apple-blossom, lime leaf and grapefruit. The palate has a ripe entry, balanced, although perhaps missing a little delineation towards the primal, lime and sherbert-tinged finish but this represents a decent white Saint Emilion, the Muscadelle lending it a Rhone-like sheen. Tasted March 2010.
