Critic Notes

Very tangy and fresh, with lots of thyme and gooseberry notes followed by lemon pith and quinine accents. A rapier finish glistens with fleur de sel details. Shows ample cut and purity. Pitch-perfect Sauvignon Blanc. Mar 2016, James Molesworth, www.WineSpectator.com

One of the great whites of Bordeaux, and in 2015 the lower acidity of the vintage is reflected in the dominance of forward, exotic apricot, nectarine and juicy peach fruit. This is a vintage that will attract many people who might feel Bordeaux white is normally too sharp; here it delivers freshness with a rounded edge. Typically impressive blend from Denis Dubourdieu, Bordeaux’s leading white wine expert. Pithy and smoky, with tangy grapefruit and fresh herbs on the palate sustained by acidity and embellished by oak. Apr 2016, www.timatkin.com, Drink: 2016-2020

The 2015 Clos Floridene Blanc from Denis and Florience Dubourdieu has a subtle but complex bouquet with scents of white peach, citrus fruit and a touch of patisserie. The palate is very well balanced and quite phenolic in the mouth, some lovely extract here imparting a slightly waxy texture. The acidity is keen and there is impressive tension and energy on the finish. It will drink young as usual, however, such is its complexity that I am more intrigued to discover how it will age. Do as you will. Apr 2016, www.robertparker.com

Opportunities to taste back vintages from this famous estate alongside the winemaking team are few and far between, so when the possibility arose, we leapt at the chance. The result was a unique tasting at ...

The Right Bank First Growth Château Cheval Blanc is an icon of Bordeaux, considered to have created some of the region’s greatest ever wines. Robert Parker has called it “one of the most elegant and noble wines in all of Bordeaux”, and many consider it to enjoy the honorary status of the Right Bank First Growth. Blankbottle & Keermont visit F+R

Blankbottle in contrast source their grapes from remote vineyards all over the Cape, applying ad hoc creative winemaking approaches as necessity dictates. Blankbottle produces up to 47 different cuvees in ...

The Cheval Blanc team invests their savoir-faire into Cheval des Andes
Cheval des Andes has always been a project closely associated with Chateau Cheval Blanc. The Argentine project started as a collaboration between Pierre Lurton (CEO of Cheval Blanc) and Roberto De La Motta (Argentine vigneron initially behind the wines of Terrazas de los Andes). From its inaugural vintage in 2001 up until 2006 Roberto was the winemaker before winemaking duties ...
