Scores + Notes
This impressive effort reveals more layers of flavor than most 2007s. Its deep ruby/purple color is followed by notes of black currants, coffee, and white chocolate, medium to full body, surprising density and purity, and a very good finish. Drink it over the next 10-12 years. Wine Advocate.April, 2010
Robert Parker Score: 89/100
Tasted at BI Wine & Spirits' 10-Years-On tasting, the 2007 Clerc Milon did not quite display the cohesion of the d'Armailhac on the nose, seeming a little fatigued in comparison. The palate is medium-bodied with straightforward rustic red berry fruit, more ferrous than I expected but with good acidity, a dash of cracked black pepper on the finish. You might describe this as a "solid" and "dependable" Clerc Milon, although compared side-by-side to its stablemate, the 2007 d'Armailhac may have the brighter future. Tasted February 2017. Neal Martin Score: 89/100
Sweet plum and peach aromas follow through to a medium body, with fine tannins and a solid core of fruit for the vintage. A little short now, but will open nicely with age.-James Suckling, Wine Spectator 2010

A couple of days in Bordeaux
Bud Cuchet and I spent a couple of days in Bordeaux last week – the first time that either of us have visited Bordeaux during the harvest despite nearly forty years in the trade between us. 2014 BORDEAUX: THE STORY SO FAR
The en-primeur machine is now very much in gear. After Friday’s release of Duhart-Milon, Monday saw another big name: Beychevelle. Both of these wines are offered at less than any other available vintage and Duhart-Milon’s reduction in price on their 2013 is a very welcome gesture. The big news, and what we have been waiting for, is a wine with ...
