Average Score 90.0

Full body, ripe and dense fruit, velvety tannins and a flavorful finish. A solid young wine from here. Mar 2017,
Very fresh, with ebullient black cherry and plum compote flavors, lined with anise and singed apple wood notes. Reveals a flash of iron through the finish. Apr 2017, James Molesworth,
Dark deep crimson. Rather appealing, fresh nose with plenty of ripeness too. Savoury and rather bloody but without the concentration of a great wine. Easy for relatively early drinking. A little drying on the end. Apr 2017,, Drink: 2021-2029
This 22ha estate is owned by Clement Pichon of Château la Dominique in St-Émilion. A good wine in this vintage, with a high 85% of Merlot, but it gives quite a different profile than you might expect from those numbers over on the right bank. Instead this has a tight frame and balanced bramble rather than summer fruits. It is softly structured but with a punch of tighter tannins on the finish. The rest of the blend is 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc (the first year to feature the new plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon in the wine since restructuring the vineyard four years ago). Harvest took place between 29th September and 19th October, with a good yield of 45hl/ha. Apr 2017,, Drink: 2025-2040
