This six-bottle case contains one bottle each of Domaine de la Durbane's Châteauneuf-du-Pape from the 2007, '09, '10, '12, '15 and '16 vintages, providing a fascinating vertical and remarkable value. Domaine de la Durbane’s tiny four-hectare vineyard consists of 55-year-old vines on Châteauneuf-du-Pape’s classic “galets roulés” quartz stone terroir. The wines, however, are made and matured under the guidance of family friend François Perrin (of Château de Beaucastel fame). Spanning a decade, this vertical offers a rare chance to explore the pleasure Châteauneuf-du-Pape offers at every stage of its evolution.

Two Champagne Verticals
Blind tasting is not always the best way to taste. The effort it involves focuses the mind and tends to imprint the experience much more firmly in the memory. It also erases preconceptions – you can’t ‘taste’ labels when you can’t see them. But because you are forced to look at the bigger picture as you seek to pin a ...
