The 2015 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a very intense and powerful bouquet with dark cherries, blackcurrant, iodine and pressed violet aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, yes, a little oaky at the moment, but there is clearly sufficient fruit to back that up and it fans out gloriously towards the blood orange infused finish. This is wonderful. Apr 2017, www.robertparker.com
(from 55+ year old vines totaling .31 ha with .125 ha in Charmes and the other .18 ha in Mazoyères). Firm reduction renders the nose unreadable today. On the plus side there is good freshness and underlying tension to the big-bodied, powerful and impressively constituted flavors that brim with dry extract while offering outstanding complexity on the balanced, firm and brilliantly persistent finish. Once again, lots of patience required. Dec 2016, www.burghound.com
