Good depth of Cabernet fruit and some length. Drink 2014-2020. Decanter.com

Score: 16-/20Decanter

A practitioner of extended cold macerations, Charmail’s 2011 reveals a dense ruby/purple color along with a sweet perfume of licorice and black currants, medium body and elevated tannins for the amount of fruit. However, it is a good effort in this tough vintage and can be enjoyed over the next 5-6 years. The final blend was 50% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Petit Verdot that came in at 13.4% alcohol. Apr 2014, www.robertparker.com

Château Gilette: The World’s Most Unique Sauternes
Château Gilette is a sweet wine unlike any other in Sauternes, due to its unique ageing process in which the élevage process takes 20 years, prior to the wine being released onto the market. This remarkable process initially came about during the Second World War. At this time it was impossible to sell any fine wine and owner René Médeville ...
