Critic Notes

The 2015 Chardonnay Reserve is matured in 70% new oak including some in concrete eggs or 14 months with batonnage. It has a clean and crisp bouquet, light tropical notes at first, flecks of white chocolate and almond lending an exotic touch. The palate is well balanced with a fine line of acidity, touches of peach and melon at first dovetailing into a slightly saline finish. I would have liked a little more depth and persistence here, especially considering this is a Reserve. Hopefully it will gain more weight in bottle. Apr 2017, www.robertparker.com

Napa Valley 2016 & 2017 Vintage Insights
The 2016 Vintage 2016 was undoubtedly a sensational vintage in Napa. Whilst it was the 5th warm vintage in a row, the season had a very wet start, so it was the first vintage in Napa since 2011 not classified as a drought vintage. For many, this brought more finesse to the tannins, more minerality and more balance to the ...
