The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses, unsurprisingly, was the best of the domaine's premier crus with lush blueberry and black cherry fruit, an underlying mineralite and fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with a spicy, attacking opening. It wants to steal the show. There is plenty of sappy red fruit mixed with white pepper towards the structured and very focused finish. Everything is neatly controlled here, which bodes well for the long-term. Dec 2016, www.robertparker.com

(from a .45 ha parcel of 45+ year old vines). Ultra-spicy black pinot fruit aromas combine with those of tea, violet and again discreet but not invisible oak toast. The succulent, rich and delicious flavors possess excellent volume and mid-palate density while exhibiting a pronounced minerality on the firm, serious and built-to-age finale. Patience will be required here as I suspect that this will shut down hard once in bottle. Dec 2016, www.burghound.com

Musigny Grand Cru Vertical Tasting 1943 – 2007 with Veronique Drouhin
The Musigny Grand Cru is an historically important site in Burgundy with vineyards on the site dating back to Gallo-Roman times. It was singled out as a separate vineyard since the Middle Ages by the monks of Citeaux, yet unlike Clos Vougeot it remained un-walled due to the fact that the site remained in multiple ownership during the ancien regime ...

A visit from Domaines Barons de Rothschild
This week we were honoured to host our long standing partner Domaines Barons de Rothschild's commercial director Jean-Sebastien Philippe for a very special tasting.... It is not every day that one has the opportunity to taste a line up of wines from all of DBR's Bordeaux properties; in fact even individual tastings rarely take place outside of Bordeaux, so we ...

Domaine Hudelot Noellat - Top picks of 2018
Our visit to Domaine Hudelot Noellat during our autumn stint in Burgundy was easily one of the highlights of the trip. Expectations were already high since Charles Van Canneyt (winemaker at the domaine) has been on a roll, producing fantastic wines at this property since taking over from his uncle in 2008. Whilst Charles prefers the cooler vintages in Burgundy, ...

Domaine Gérard Raphet - Producer Portrait
Gérard Raphet - the quiet man of Morey-Saint-Denis - lets his wines do the talking. With some exceptional terroir to play with and some very old vines, his wines exude "terroir". His impressive holdings (totally 12 hectares) include five cuvees coming from four of the best Cote de Nuits Grands Crus – Chambertin Clos de Beze, Charmes Chambertin, Clos de la ...
