Critic Notes

Surprisingly, orange marmalade can be detected in the nose of the 2001 Chablis Les Fourneaux. This wine admirably combines lovely depth of fruit with focus and definition. Flint, minerals, and traces of lemons are found in its detailed, light to medium-bodied character. Drink it over the next 3 years. Apr 2003, www.robertparker.com

Our old friends Vergelegen drop into FINE+RARE for a tasting
“The crp about collecting wine is just that, crp. Wine is there to make the journey through life more enjoyable”. Put in a way that only South Africans' seem to be capable of expressing, we raised our glasses to this sentiment from Andre Van Rensberg, but I made sure to write some surreptitious notes along the way too. 2011 Reserve ...

A New Era for Domaine Billaud-Simon
In 2014 Domaine Faiveley acquired one of the best-known names in Chablis, Domaine Billaud-Simon, amassing around 20 hectares of vineyards in some of the best terroirs in the region. During the takeover, Olivier Bailly stepped in as winemaker taking charge of winemaking from the 2014 vintage and gaining full viticultural control from 2015. Olivier has had some great experience both ...
