Average Score 88.7

Slightly earthy aromas, follow through to raspberries. Full body, with soft and silky tannins and a delicately fruity finish. Bright acidity. Second wine of L'Angelus. Better in 2013. James Suckling,
Very chewy, with ripe dark fruits and a mineral, spicy character. Full and silky, with a medium finish. Second wine of L'Angélus
Light and fresh and racy, dry on the end but with real succulence beforehand. Dense and purple.
Tasted at Chateau Angelus. This is the first time that the second wine of Angelus has been shown at primeur. It has a creamy nose, rather dominated by new oak at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with dense black fruit interlaced with touches of cigar box and smoke, a more masculine wine than expected with a foursquare, dry finish. Moderate length. Fine. Tasted March 2010.
Essentially the second wine of Angelus, but coming from a separate parcel that no longer goes into the grand vin Angelus, this blend of equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Franc hit 14% natural alcohol. It is a soft, fruity, front end-loaded wine with plenty of berry fruit, underbrush and herbs as well as a hint of coffee and some loamy soil notes. Drink it over the next 7-8 years.
