Critic Notes

Composed of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, I originally rated this 650-case cuvee 94 points. It is a lighter, softer, more velvety textured version of the 1999. A dense plum/purple color is followed by sweet cranberry, black raspberry, roasted herb, coffee bean, white chocolate and subtle barbecue smoke characteristics. This medium to full-bodied, velvety textured, fully mature 2000 should offer beautiful drinking for another decade. Wine Advocate.June, 2011

With all the wines now released and practically every major critic's review published, we reflect on some of the real gems in the vintage from the Cote de Beaune. Perhaps the biggest surprise about tasting the wines now in bottle was just how well the whites performed. Whilst there was plenty of hype and expectation for the reds long ...

F+R Early Insight into the 2018 Burgundy Vintage
F+R were in Burgundy this week for the first tastings of the 2018 vintage and we were thrilled by what we tasted. There is plenty of excitement from the producers we visited with praise for the vintage being universal, 2018 is without doubt an exceptional vintage. Many of the producers we visited are already comparing it to previous stellar vintages ...
