A tannic and structured red with blackberry and currant character, a medium to full body and a savory finish. Shows the potential. Mar 2017,
A good Listrac, on gravel soils close to St-Julien. The tannins are a little chewy and rustic, but the fruit is beautifully ripe and there is good impact. Vinification is followed by 30-35 days of long, slow maceration aimed at finessing the black fruits and smoky charcoal flavours. Planted to 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. Apr 2017,, Drink: 2023-2038
The 2016 Chateau Cap Leon Veyrin, owned by Famille Meyre, was backward and introspective on the nose, though it gradually opened with smoke and cigar box scents that filter through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannin, lighter in style than some of its peers and it just seems to taper to a point on the finish. This is a fine Listrac but let's see if it matches the 2015 that impressed last year. Apr 2017,, Drink: 2021-2035
Very dark purple. Juicy and savoury – a nice whole on the nose though it lacks a bit of drive and freshness on the palate. Something buttery about this.  Apr 2017,, Drink: 2023-2033
