The 2014 Cap du Mourlin is quite reticent on the nose, but gradually opens with red cherry and raspberry coulis aromas, veins of cedar in the background. The palate is ripe on the entry with soy-tinged red berry fruit, a crisp line of acidity that leads to a compact, slightly heady finish that just needs a little more restraint. This just feels a little pushed when there was no need. Mar 2017, www.robertparker.com
