This has a lively ginger note adding energy to the mix of singed almond, creamed peach and warm piecrust flavors. Solid. Apr 2017, James Molesworth, www.winespectator.com
The 2016 Cantegril has a pretty lime flower and clear honey-scented bouquet that needs a little more vigor. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, commendable weight with a rounded clementine and honeyed finish that deserves a round of applause. This could become a delightful Cantegril if the aromatics can find their voice in bottle. Apr 2017, www.robertparker.com
A smoked-meat note on the nose – intriguing! Medium to full bodied with real lift and sprightliness. Super-clean and fresh. Very attractive even if not a long-distance runner. Apr 2017, www.jancisrobinson.com, Drink: 2021-2030
The 2016 Cantegril offers good up-front appeal in its orange peel, tropical fruit and lightly honeyed flavors, but then loses some of its persistence on the mid-palate and finish. As it is, the 2016 is very good, but it could be better, perhaps meaningfully so. Apr 2017, www.vinous.com
