Critic Notes

This large vineyard in Macau (near Cantemerle and Giscours, not Hong Kong) produces a blend of 50% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot. It is a consistent choice among shrewd wine consumers looking for good value from Bordeaux. The deep ruby-colored 2006 exhibits sweet red and black currant aromas intermixed with notions of toasty oak, damp earth, and spice. Richly fruity, soft, and round, it is best drunk over the next 3-4 years. Feb 2009, www.robertparker.com

2014: THE F+R PICKS. SMITH-HAUT-LAFITTE
They know what they’re doing at Smith-Haut-Lafitte. Bordeaux EP 2017 Campaign - Week 3 Update
It has been very quiet this week due to the public holidays spread across the week in France. However Denis Durantou winemaker at Chateau L'Eglise Clinet took advantage of the quiet period releasing his satellite Pomerol, Castillon and Saint Emilion wines. These wines have always been popular since they offer great value for money from one of Bordeaux's top producers and with Denis comparing the ...
