Average Score 90.0

Engaging, with a bouncy edge to the mix of black cherry and black currant fruit. Lots of mouthwatering spice accents on the finish, with a light brambly hint too. Apr 2017, James Molesworth, www.winespectator.com
This has a silky quality to the tannins, and some rich chocolate strands that balance effortlessly with the black cherry fruits. It's gourmet certainly, but not necessarily hugely reflective of the vintage. It is very good, however, and shows that the recent improved form of Cadet Bon is continuing. Guy Richard is owner of this small 5.2ha property planted to 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. Apr 2017, www.decanter.com, Drink: 2025-2038
The 2016 Cadet-Bon is plump, juicy and absolutely delicious. Supple fruit, silky tannins and lovely persistence are among the qualities that make the 2016 such a success. Although not especially complex, this midweight Saint-Émilion possesses impeccable balance to match its pliant, inviting personality. The 2016 is 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc. Frédéric Massie and Emmanuel Ramond consult. Apr 2017, www.vinous.com
